
Grape Jelly5 cups grape juice

7 cups sugarSort, wash, and remove the stems and leaves from about 4 1/2 pounds of grapes. Crush the grapes, then add a cup of water. Cover the pan. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Place the fruit and liquid in a jelly bag and extract the juice. Place the juice in a container in the refrigerator overnight. Filter through two or more thicknesses of cheesecloth to remove the crystals which form in the juice. Follow the procedure under Making Jelly.
Yield: 4 half-pint jars.
