Apple Stuffing with Sausage

Apple Stuffing with Sausage

Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°F.

2Line 12 jumbo muffin cups with foil liners.

3In a large skillet, cook sausage according to package directions. Remove and thinly slice; set aside.

4In same skillet, melt butter. Add the celery, onion, carrot, and garlic; cook over medium heat for 7 minutes. Stir in apples and Mrs. Wages® Apple Spice Mix and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes or until apples are tender. Transfer mixture to a large bowl.

5Add the sausage, stuffing cubes, cranberries, sage, salt and pepper to apple mixture and toss to combine. Add chicken broth and eggs, tossing until stuffing cubes are moistened and mixture comes together.

6Fill each muffin cup with 1 cup packed stuffing, pressing down to level off. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.

1 package (12 oz) breakfast sausage links

3 Tbsp butter

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped red onion

1/2 cup matchsticks carrot

3 medium garlic cloves, minced

3 cups chopped red or green apples

1 tsp Mrs. Wages® Apple Spice Mix

6 cups unseasoned stuffing cubes

1/4 cup dried cranberries

2 tsp ground sage

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

2 ⅓ cups chicken broth or water

2 eggs, lightly beaten
