Cranberry Applesauce featuring Mrs. Wages® Spiced Apple Mix

Cranberry Applesauce featuring Mrs. Wages® Spiced Apple Mix

Directions

1Place cranberries in a saucepan; add water just to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until berries pop. Stir in orange peel. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

2Place cranberries and pears in a food processor or blender. Process until coarsely chopped.

3Pour into a large bowl. Stir in applesauce. (Instructions below.) Refrigerate until serving. Serve chilled. Garnish with whipped topping, if desired.

Applesauce

1Wash, core and peel 8-10 lbs apples. Cut into halves or quarters. Combine prepared apples with 2 cups water and bring to boil. Cover pot; reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Puree apple mixture and measure before returning to pot. Add 1/4 cup sugar per 1 cup puree. Stir to dissolve sugar. Stir in contents of Mrs. Wages Spiced Apple Mix. Heat mixture just to a boil. Remove from heat.

1-12 oz fresh cranberries

1 tsp grated orange peel

1-14.5 oz can pears, drained

1 qt prepared applesauce (see ingredients and directions below)

Whipped topping, optional

Applesauce Ingredients

8-10 lbs apples

sugar (see below)

2 cups water

1 pouch of Mrs. Wages® Spiced Apple Mix
